Affiliates
An affiliate is a person who earns a comission on the sales generated by his website visitors.
Probably there are affiliate programs on every online sales business.
Affiliate programs work, generally, in the following way: after registering in an affiliate program we accede to a personal HTML code (with a redirect link to sales site) which we copy and past to our site. The purchases done by the visitors of our site done in the sales site will generate the earned comissions.
The HTML code can be, depending on affiliate program or our option, a simple text link or a group of text links or images.
Depending on the conditions of affiliate program the origin of the visitor/buyer are stored during some period of time.
That way, if a visitor at your site clicks in a advertisement link, visits the advertiser site and buy passing a week it is possible that you can still earn a comission because his origin is stored and your account is credit for is shoppings. Usually the visitor origin is stored during 30 to 60 days but it varies. Consult the terms at every affilate program.
There are two types of affiliaton: direct affiliation and network affiliation.
At direct affiliation systems you create accounts at sellers sites that sell their products.
In network affiliation we register in an independent site where we obtain html codes of several external sellers and campains.
